As SBS celebrates its 50th anniversary, the national broadcaster stands as a case study in strategic reinvention - demonstrating how bold leadership, digital innovation, and deep consumer insight can future-proof an organisation by setting, rather than following, the rules.
Jane Palfreyman is an accomplished executive leader with over 25 years’ experience in media, marketing, and commercial strategy. As Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer at SBS, Jane is responsible for the public broadcaster’s sales and marketing functions, commercial strategy, revenue growth, and brand positioning as it seeks to engage its Charter of serving multilingual, multicultural, and First Nations audiences.
Prior to joining SBS, she held senior strategic and marketing leadership roles at Nova Entertainment, Global Radio London, and Southern Cross Austereo, with a consistent focus on audience engagement, integrated media solutions, and building high-performance teams.
Jane is a Non-Executive Director on the Board of NSW Rugby Union, contributing strategic guidance to the advancement of rugby in New South Wales and the growth of women's sport in Australia.
This is a steadfast and inspirational opportunity for professionals at all stages of their career to expand their network. Attendance at PWN events may qualify for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points.
