What Your Giving Has Achieved in 2024

Whether you made a donation, rocked the chop for the Ponytail Project, donated a piece of memorabilia, made a gift of art, or the gift of time, we are incredibly grateful for your support.

As we come to the end of another school year, we sincerely thank you for your support in 2024.

Whether you made a donation to the St Margaret’s Foundation, rocked the chop for the Ponytail Project, donated a piece of memorabilia to the Archives Centre, made a gift of art to support our curriculum, or the gift of time through volunteering, we are incredibly grateful for your support.

Thank you to those of you who supported the St Margaret’s Foundation by donating on Giving Day, making an annual donation or contributing alongside purchasing a ticket to attend your reunion weekend events. This year, we raised just over $430,000 on Giving Day to support the restoration of Community House into a student wellbeing centre. This project is now well underway, with students expected to begin using the space in Term 1 next year. With our new Masterplan set to be completed by the end of this calendar year, we look forward to sharing some exciting new plans for you in 2025, which will include a new Performing Arts Precinct.

Thank you to those of you who have supported our bursary program, which has continued to grow, with 18 students receiving financial support to access or complete their St Margaret’s education, thanks to the generosity of those who donated to the Panama Fund. To witness the power of a St Margaret's education and what it means to be part of this community as a student, we hope you enjoy watching the 2024 Speech Night video via the following link: vimeo.com/1023144681

Our Professional Women’s Network (PWN) and Aspiring Young Women’s Network (AYWN) series were fortunate to welcome Rhyll Gardiner (’81), Emma Covacevich (’93), Jimena Kotsomitis (’01), Alice Mort (’13) and Denise Emmanuel (’91) as guest speakers. Profits made through sponsorship and tickets sales of the breakfast events totalled just over $40,000, which has been donated to our Endowment Fund to help support several bursaries and scholarships for Indigenous, regional, and rural girls, based on financial need.

Finally, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to so many of you who have generously given your time. As volunteering decreases across Australia, we are incredibly grateful for our strong community of volunteers who work behind the scenes to support St Margaret’s students, both past and present. Thank you to those of you who have served on our boards and committees, including the Old Girls’ Association, School Council, St Margaret’s Foundation, St Margaret’s P&F Association and other sub-committees and support groups. We also thank our St Margaret’s Plus Mentors, Reunion Coordinators, Development and Community Office volunteers, and our Old Girls who support our events as school partners, sponsors and prize donors.  We also thank you to those who have shared their journeys through the Old Girls’ Newsletter, the Imagine Her Future Campaign, or by speaking at events, assemblies, our oral histories project, and career activities. Thank you.

Thank you for your ongoing support of your school and helping us to achieve wonderful things for future generations of St Margaret’s girls.
