School Updates |
For our current students and Old Girls, much of their St Margaret’s experience has been shaped by the generosity of those who have left a legacy through making a bequest.
From time to time here at St Margaret’s we receive a donation in a Will from an Old Girl which comes as a surprise. When this occurs, we are always saddened we did not have the opportunity to acknowledge and show our appreciation to the person who had chosen to make this incredible gift beyond their lifetime, while they were still living.
In 2015, we launched the Eton Society to honour, acknowledge and maintain a close connection with those who have advised the school they have included St Margaret’s in their Will as a beneficiary of their estate.
Being a member of the Eton Society enables you to keep in regular contact with the school and be provided with regular updates about the school’s future – plans that will be enabled in part through the bequest program.
Across the course of the school year, members of the Eton Society are invited to attend special events with other members of the school community who share the same passion and maintain an ongoing interest in what their legacy will help achieve. These include our annual Eton Society and Past Chairs Luncheon in March and key school events such as Classics in the Cathedral in August, and Speech Night in November.
By making a gift in your Will to St Margaret’s through our Foundation, you are playing a vital role in the advancement of the school ensuring that the ‘spirit of St Margaret’s’ thrives for future generations.
If you have included St Margaret’s Foundation in your Will, intend to or would like to find out more, please contact us on (07) 3862 0884 or email foundation@stmargarets.qld.edu.au
We would love to hear from and have a discussion with you, and most importantly, recognise your generosity through the Eton Society.
