I have lots of mysteries to share this term, and if you are able to help with an answer, I would love to hear from you – either via email msurtees@stmargarets.qld.edu.au or (07) 3862 0816.
I am collating family trees – i.e., families whose many members have attended St Margaret’s over the years. If you have a multi-generational connection with our school, we would love to hear about it. Was there a great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, aunts, cousins in the one family who attended the school? We are endeavouring to build a picture of families and their connections with St Margaret’s.
I recently received a photo, taken by the Courier Mail, of an event in Festival Hall in 1964/1965. I believe it involved several Anglican (or at the time, Church of England) schools. Girls in the photo have been identified as coming from several year levels. Any ideas? Was it a church service?
Did you attend the OGA Ball in the City Hall in 1973? It was a combined ball with Churchie, St Aidan’s and St Margaret’s. Limited mention is made of it in the Link of the time. I am trying to ascertain the exact date – day and month. Can someone help, please?
In 2025, I will be after helpers who can identify faces. We have wonderful photos but many of them do not have names attached. Whilst memories are still sharp, it would be great to have people to identify faces and put names to them. If you can spare a day or two in 2025 to play detective, please let me know. This applies to all years – from the most distant to the more recent.
I had a lovely lady leave a message on the Archive Centre voicemail saying that she knew Miss Colleen Scott and was taught by her. But the phone number she left is not valid. If you are reading this, please get back in touch as I would love to hear about your memories of Miss Scott.
