We can't say 'Thank You' enough for giving from your heart this Giving Day.
With thanks to the incredible generosity from our community, the 2024 Giving Day campaign has raised an extraordinary $431,037 to help give every girl every opportunity to grow at St Margaret's. It truly was a whole community effort, and we thank each and every one of our 549 donors for your wonderful support.
This year we have supported two very important causes which are close to our hearts.
Gifts to the Building Fund will help us to restore Community House – a beautiful heritage listed building on our Ascot Campus – the very first building the Sisters of the Society of the Sacred Advent (SSA) purchased for what would become one of Queensland’s leading schools. It is from these foundations that St Margaret’s flourished; sadly, however, this grand building has been underutilized since 2016. Appropriately, once restored, Community House will become a student wellbeing centre for our students, a faithful application of the Sisters’ philosophy to educate and care for the whole child. The building will house the school psychologists and chaplain and become the centre of many student wellbeing activities. In addition, a dedicated space will honour the legacy of the SSA.
Donations to our Panama Fund will help us to support students who would otherwise not be able to access a St Margaret’s education. Last year, 21 students were supported with needs-based bursaries thanks to those who donated to this fund.
We would like to say a special thank you to our Matching Donors, including the Old Girls’ Association, who matched donations dollar for dollar right through to the completion of our Bonus Round. We would also like to acknowledge the amazing efforts of our students who danced off, held coin drives, sausage sizzles, bake sales and manned the phones to help us spread the word about Giving Day far and wide.
Giving Day is a day of community spirit, and it is always so wonderful to witness the whole St Margaret’s community coming together in support of a shared goal.
Thank you to all of you who kindly donated on Giving Day this this year; we hope you enjoy this short video from everyone at St Margaret’s: https://vimeo.com/949749178/e66349a5eb?share=copy
Thank you once again. We are profoundly grateful for your support.
