Reflections on the St Margaret’s Plus Mentoring Program

The St Margaret’s Plus Mentoring Program has gone from strength to strength every year since its inception.

The St Margaret’s Plus Mentoring Program has gone from strength to strength every year since its inception. This year, 48 Year 12 students participated in the program and were paired with 44 Old Girl Mentors. It has been wonderful to see the intergenerational connection between Old Girls and soon-to-be Old Girls form.

Thank you to the following Old Girls who participated this year. Your advice, time, and guidance has been invaluable.

  • Sally Anderson (’97)
  • Prue Burnett (’13)
  • Mel Buttle (’99)

  • Charlotte Cosgrove (’17)
  • Sarah Dring (’06)

It was wonderful to be joined by so many Mentors at the third Aspiring Young Women’s Network breakfast for 2024, which gave students the opportunity to meet their Mentor in person and thank them for all their time and guidance.

I look forward to the continuous growth of the program in 2025. If any Old Girls are interested in becoming Mentors, please email me at LFowler002@stmargarets.qld.edu.au. I am currently looking for Mentors in the following fields: psychology; marine biology; midwifery; dentistry; and finance. Any and all Old Girls are welcome to sign up to the St Margaret’s Plus Mentoring Program.
