Flyer Magazine 2025

St Margaret's annual Flyer celebrates the achievements of the school and wider community

St Margaret’s annual Flyer magazine highlights the achievements of the school, and staff and students both within and beyond the classroom. It is a celebration of all things St Margaret’s, as well as providing campus development updates, awards and accolades, updates on programs and pedagogy, and recognition of students, alumni and important members of our school community.

In the 2025 edition, we hear from the new Chair of School Council, Ms Lisa Worner, and thank Ms Deb Smith for her stewardship of the school in her time as Chair. The Flyer also includes the St Margaret’s Foundation Donor Impact Report, in which we hear from last year’s outgoing Chair of Foundation, Penny Wolff (’92) and welcome our new Foundation Chair, Mikaeli Costello, and new Director on St Margaret’s School Council, George Piggott.

This edition celebrates the musical and philanthropic legacy of Helene Jones OAM (’34, nee Baird), who left a wonderful gift to St Margaret’s in her Will in 2013 to honour her sister, Nora. The Helene Jones Foundation Trust for Nora Baird has since provided support to the St Margaret’s Scholarship Fund for music scholarships, having supported 11 St Margaret’s students to date.

The Flyer commemorates the generosity of our community in giving to restore the heart of St Margaret’s, Community House. In alignment with the philosophy of the Sisters of the Society of the Sacred Advent (SSA), Community House has been restored into a Student Wellbeing Centre.

The Flyer is available to read online: https://www.stmargarets.qld.edu.au/discover-st-margarets/publications/flyer.
