Old Girls' Association Newsletter |
The first few months of this year have certainly been exciting for the Old Girls’ Association. On Wednesday 26 March, we held the Past Student Awards Dinner in the Arts Centre Foyer, celebrating the amazing achievements of this year’s winners: Prue Galley (’61), Ria Bhagat (’12), and Annabelle Brayley (’72). It was incredible to see so many Old Girls in the room celebrating our fantastic winners and reuniting for such an important event. Thank you to those who came along – I hope to see you again next year!
If you know of any Old Girls who you believe are deserving of a Past Student Award, I am delighted to share that nominations for the 2026 Past Student Awards are now open. These awards were first established in 2015 to:
Online nomination forms can be completed here: https://paststudents.stmargarets.qld.edu.au/pages/past-student-awards. If you would like to complete a hardcopy nomination, please contact the Development and Community Office via (07) 3862 0768 or oga&alumni@stmargarets.qld.edu.au. The deadline for nominations is Friday 14 November 2025.
On Wednesday 28 May, St Margaret’s will celebrate its annual Giving Day, and the Old Girls’ Association is proud to once again be a matching donor. Our ethos as an association is to continue to support the school in its development of facilities and programs that foster the holistic education of each student, and Giving Day provides the perfect opportunity to demonstrate our support.
We have many Old Girls returning to St Margaret’s as speakers throughout the year. For students, Elise Gane (’04) will be our first Aspiring Young Women’s Network Breakfast speaker, sharing her diverse experiences as a physiotherapist, clinician, researcher, and project officer. For our second Professional Women’s Network Breakfast, we welcome Amanda Lacaze (’76), CEO and MD of Lynas Rare Earths. We have many other Old Girls returning to impart their professional wisdom, so keep an eye out for events that may be of interest to you!
If you are from one of our reunion cohorts for the year, don’t forget to purchase your tickets to your milestone reunion and Old Girls’ Day for Saturday 26 – Sunday 27 July. This weekend promises to be full of memories, connection and fun for all our Old Girls celebrating. Please note, the Old Girls’ Day Chapel Service and Morning Tea on Sunday 27 July is open to ALL Old Girls who may wish to attend. It is not limited to those celebrating their milestone reunions.
I sincerely hope you enjoy this edition of the OGA Newsletter. If you have any ideas for stories or profiles that you would like shared, please contact the Development and Community Office (details above).
