This year, your generosity, through Giving Day donations, contributions to our Bursary Program, support for the Performing Arts Precinct Capital Campaign, and gifts left in Wills by Old Girls, has once again made an extraordinary impact on the next generation of St Margaret’s women.
Of our 616 donors, one third were Old Girls. Thanks to you, 22 current students received needs-based bursaries, empowering them to access and complete a St Margaret’s education. And because of your support our plans for the Arts Precinct, a vibrant new home for performance, creativity, self-expression, and community are well on their way to becoming a reality.
Your kindness is more than a gift — it’s a legacy. It’s the quiet encouragement behind a student’s first solo, the steady hand that helps her rise after a setback, and the belief that her future is worth investing in.
In the spirit of gratitude, we invite you to hear directly from the students whose lives you’ve touched. Their words say it best:
“Thank you. I’m not sure you realise it, but you help provide me with more than just an education. You fill me with confidence, motivation and with the knowledge that you are looking out for me, to catch me if I stumble.”
“You have changed my life, and I am so grateful. The opportunity I have been gifted due to your generosity means so much to me and I will forever cherish this.”
“I am forever grateful for what you have done for me and my family. I hope that one day I can make as much impact in another person’s life as you have in mine.”
“I cannot reflect on my achievements without recognising my family, my community, and the life-changing opportunity that was receiving a scholarship to attend St Margaret’s.” - A proud Yuggera woman.
“I miss my home so much, but I am so glad that I am a Maggies girl. Thank you for supporting me.”
“I can genuinely say that coming to a school like St Margaret’s has changed my life. It allowed me to see what was possible and enabled me to realise my potential. I have been able to form irreplaceable friendships that I truly cherish. Without the remarkable bursary program, this would not be possible. Thank you.”
“I thank all of you, who contribute so generously to St Margaret’s bursary program. The education of many girls is due to this amazing kindness. One day I hope to be one of you, giving the gift of a future otherwise only dreamt of, through your generous donations.”
“Thank you for investing in Music and the Arts at Maggies.”
“Thank you for being the difference in a girl continuing and completing her education at St Margaret’s when her family needed the support the most.”
“The influence of St Margaret’s has gone far beyond education. Their support empowered me to navigate challenges beyond school life with confidence and resilience.” - A proud Vigil woman.
“Thank you for helping make a calm space where I can get away from the noise.”
“Thank you for believing in us.”
“Thank you for helping my friend to pursue her passion in music.”
“Boarding at St Margaret’s shaped me in ways that I never expected. It taught me independence while also showing me the strength in asking for help. The boarding house was a place where we were encouraged to do our best in every aspect of school life, with unwavering support at every step.” – A proud Kamilaroi woman.
