Class of 2022 achieve strong ATAR results

St Margaret's students have once again received strong ATAR results with 10.1%* of the Class of 2022 achieving an ATAR of 99 or above.

St Margaret’s students have once again received strong ATAR results with 10.1%* of the Class of 2022 achieving an ATAR of 99 or above, placing them in the top 1% of the state, and two students achieving 99.95, the highest possible ATAR result.

A total of 62.4%* achieved an ATAR of 90 or above, placing them in the top 10 per cent of the State.

Of the 26 students who studied a Portfolio Pathway, 15 graduated with a Diploma of Business, 12 graduated with a Diploma of Project Management and all 26 completed either a Certificate II or Certificate III across a range of courses.

Principal Ros Curtis said the strong academic success of the Class of 2022 was a reflection of the students’ dedication and the strong partnership between teachers and the students’ families.

“I am immensely proud of the achievements of our graduating class, and I am confident these results will open many doors to the future study and career aspirations for these young women.

“While these results are a testament to the resilience, persistence and dedication of our graduated students, it is also a testament to our dedicated teachers for their stewardship of the learning journey of our seniors and the students’ families who supported their daughters throughout their education at St Margaret’s,” Ms Curtis said.

As part of St Margaret’s approach to providing a holistic education for students, the graduating Class of 2022 are entering post school life with a St Margaret’s Plus portfolio in addition to their Queensland Certificate of Education.

Introduced in 2019, the program identifies and documents the employability skills that St Margaret’s students develop while at school through participation in extracurricular and service activities.

It records and maps the skills students demonstrate across Years 10, 11 and 12, through the varied activities which sit outside or alongside the academic program. Upon graduation, Year 12 students receive a Portfolio providing further information for prospective employers and educational institutions.

"By focusing on developing 'soft skills' gained through activities outside the classroom, St Margaret's Plus is providing a future-focused program that will benefit students as they enter tertiary study or the workforce.

"Rather than just having on their resume that they held a leadership position in school or were involved in philanthropy, the skills they gained through this involvement are demonstrable and comprehensively mapped and can be presented to their desired university or employer," Ms Curtis said.

The 2022 graduates were the first cohort afforded the opportunity to participate in the St Margaret’s Mentoring Program, where they teamed up with alumni in their interested field. This program was the recipient of an Innovative Schools Award in 2022.

We congratulate the graduates of 2022 on their final academic results, and we wish them every success in their future endeavours. Per Volar Sunata.
